One call connects you with one of our local concrete professionals. Here is what to have ready, what happens next, and who is responsible for what.

Before you call

Have the address, the kind of job, rough measurements and a few photos on your phone. For a replacement, note what is there now and what is wrong with it. For new work, know roughly where it goes and how you will use it. If you have checked your town guide, mention any permit rule you found.

During the call

Call and describe the job, and one of our local concrete professionals takes it from there. Give the exact address rather than only the city, so the visit and the permit rules match the property.

After the call

Your technician arranges a visit, measures and gives you a quote. Before work starts, your technician confirms the schedule, the proposed pour date, the agreed work and who will file any required permit application or utility-locate request. Take time to compare; the cost guide lists what a complete quote should cover.

What to ask your technician

  1. Who pulls the city permit, and who places the utility-locate ticket before digging?
  2. What thickness, base and reinforcement are quoted, and is the concrete air-entrained?
  3. How will the slab be cured, and when can it take foot traffic and cars?
  4. What happens if the base is worse than expected after tear-out?
  5. What does the warranty cover, and for how long?

Paperwork to ask for

Ask your technician for proof of insurance, a written contract, and whatever registration your city requires. The questions page explains Minnesota's licensing rule for concrete-only contractors.
